GENE CLONING
-
Gene cloning is the process in which a gene of interest is selected and copied (cloned) out of DNA extracted from an organism.
-
The DNA fragment extracted contains desired genes
-
Gene cloning produces copies of genes or segments of DNA.
-
Gene cloning, also known as DNA cloning.
-
DNA of interest is cut by using restriction enzyme so as the vector chosen for carry the gene into the host.
-
The small cut fragment of DNA is then insert into a vector.
-
The vector act as vehicle to transfer DNA of interest to the host cell.
-
The vector multiplies in the host cell along with the section of DNA.
-
Thus many copies of the original section of DNA are produced.
-
Gene cloning enable the study of gene expression
